Freedom in the Flesh Writing Workshop

In the era of a global crisis, the concept of freedom is paradoxical yet is still our birthright. We will journey through its boundless nature while interrogating the limitations casted upon our minds and bodies. Through creative writing, we will collectively engage in a celebration of the freedom that lies within. 

About the Facilitator: Rabih Ahmed is a Ghanaian-American Muslim poet and educator from The Bronx. She is currently a workshop facilitator and Teaching Artist in NYC. She has taught poetry and preformance at Fordham University, Community-Word Project, and Girls Inc. Rabih was first recognized by the Department of Education, where she was commissioned to South Africa to meet Nelson Mandela. Since then she has performed her poetry throughout New York State, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Brazil. To learn more about Rabih you can access her full bio here.
